Florida Greenways & Trails Foundation Welcomes 2024 Board Leaders

As we step into 2024, the Florida Greenways & Trails Foundation (FGTF) is excited to announce a new chapter in our journey. We're welcoming a dynamic team of board officers, who are set to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to our mission of connecting communities through trails.

President: Ned Baier

Vice President: Kim DeLaney

Secretary: Harold Barley

Treasurer: Mike Stephens

Our new board members come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique skills and a shared passion for the outdoors. They are poised to lead the FGTF into a future where Florida’s trails not only connect landscapes but also hearts and minds.

But as we embrace this new era, we also pay tribute to the incredible legacy of Dale Allen, our outgoing board member. Under Dale's guidance, the FGTF has grown exponentially, leaving an indelible mark on Florida's natural and cultural landscapes. His tireless efforts in expanding and enhancing our trail networks have created lasting impacts for communities and wildlife alike. Dale will continue to inspire us in his role as an honorary board member.

Joining Dale in this honorary status is Karen Klena, another cornerstone of our foundation. Karen's contributions have been instrumental in shaping our vision and strategies, ensuring that our trails remain accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The FGTF stands at a pivotal moment, looking forward to building on the strong foundation laid by our predecessors. We're committed to advancing trail development, fostering community connections, and promoting environmental stewardship. Our trails are more than just paths; they are the lifelines of our communities, offering everyone a chance to explore, connect, and rejuvenate.

We invite you to join us in this exciting journey. Whether you're a trail enthusiast, a community leader, or simply someone who loves the great outdoors, there’s a place for you in the FGTF family. Together, let's stride towards a brighter, greener future for Florida.
