Tim was born and raised in Chicago. He attended University of Florida to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in finance. He also attended the University of Central Florida where he received his Master of Business Administration degree. He started his professional career in Washington DC where he worked as a federal government contractor which supported the Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA).
Tim began his career with the County of Volusia in November of 1992 as a Budget Analyst in the Budget Office. He was promoted to a Special Project Coordinator in August of 1996 in the Economic Resources Division and moved to the Parks, Recreation and Culture Division in 1998 and was promoted to Activity Project Manager in September of 2003. He was promoted to the Parks, Recreation and Culture Director in March 2008. He has over 20 years of experience in the parks and recreation field and has been working in governmental services for over 30 years. He is a Certified Parks Recreation Professional (CPRP). In addition to managing the county’s parks, recreation and culture assets, he is also responsible for the county’s land management program with over 38,000 acres of conservation lands.
He oversees the development and management of Volusia County’s trail program which currently operates 58.7 miles of paved trails and hundreds of miles of nature trails, equestrian trails and paddling trails. He was instrumental in obtaining Suntrail funds for the development of the St. Johns River To Sea Loop. Tim has coordinated with various counties regarding trail branding, wayfinding signage, mobile trail applications, trail maintenance and design.
Tim has been married for over 29 years to his wife Laura and has two boys ages 20 and 18. He plays the drums and is an avid world traveler. When not working he is always involved in some home improvement project.
