Partnering for a Greener Future: Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation and Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation

The Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation is thrilled to announce its new partnership with the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation. This collaboration marks a significant step towards preserving Florida’s natural beauty and biodiversity. Together, we are dedicated to safeguarding the state’s unique wildlife and expansive wild spaces, ensuring they remain protected for generations to come.

After years of tireless efforts from conservationists, scientists, policymakers, and advocates, the Florida Wildlife Corridor Act was enacted on June 29, 2021, with overwhelming bipartisan support. This landmark legislation establishes the Florida Wildlife Corridor, encompassing nearly 18 million acres of contiguous wilderness and working lands. These areas are vital for the survival of 131 of Florida’s imperiled species and play a crucial role in combating climate change. By conserving these natural habitats, we contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and enhance our resilience against the adverse effects of rising temperatures.

Join us in celebrating this partnership and our shared commitment to a sustainable, vibrant future for Florida’s ecosystems and communities.
